サイトメガロウイルスは初感染後、体内に生涯にわたり存在し、免疫能の低下により再活性化するため、AIDSの日和見感染症、臓器移植や輸血による医原性感染の原因ウイルスとして重要視されている。CMV-Ab測定は臨床的にはCMV感染の診断、輸血ドナーの検査に用いられる。 高値（血清）：サイトメガロウイルス感染症、急性心筋梗塞、関節リウマチ |
