CDCAはコール酸と共に肝でコレステロールから合成される一次胆汁酸で胆汁中に排泄され、腸内で腸内細菌により二次胆汁酸になる。コレステロールの調節、脂肪の消化・吸収を助けている。薬剤としてコレステロール系胆石の溶解に使われる。 高値（血清）：α1-アンチトリプシン欠損症、ウィルス性肝炎、嚢胞性線維症、慢性活動性肝炎、肝硬変、原発性胆汁性肝硬変、肝外胆汁閉塞 |
